Current Opportunities

Join Our Visitor Services and Event Volunteer Team!

Oakville Galleries is looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support our exhibitions, public programs, and special events through the remainder of 2026.

As a Visitor Services and Events Volunteer, you'll play an important role in our front of house duties by welcoming visitors, assisting with exhibition openings and community programs, and helping create meaningful experiences with contemporary art across our two gallery locations.

Whether you're interested in the arts, looking to gain hands-on gallery experience, or simply hoping to get more involved in your community, we'd love to hear from you. Volunteers receive training, behind-the-scenes experience, opportunities to connect with artists and arts professionals, and the chance to be part of one of Canada's leading contemporary art galleries.

Education Volunteer

Education Volunteers play an important role in supporting Oakville Galleries' year-round education programs by helping create welcoming, engaging, and creative experiences for participants. Volunteers assist Education staff with program preparation, art activities, and participant engagement. Ideal candidates have an interest in contemporary art and arts education, enjoy working with children and the public, and are reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic team members.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted as volunteer opportunities become available.

Co-Op and Internship Program

As a part of the Education Department, Oakville Galleries hosts many job shadowing, co-op, internship, and teacher candidates throughout the year.

If you are interested in the arts or pursuing a job in education, consider Oakville Galleries as your host institution! Students will develop leadership, communication, organization, and teamwork skills and will work towards achieving goals co-created with the candidate and Oakville Galleries.

Reporting to the Head of Education and Education Assistant, our Education Co-op students play an important role in our education programs by supporting our staff and visitors with art and related activities. Ideal candidates are interested in the arts, enjoy working with children, and are responsible, hard workers.
