Jenna Chiddenton

Jenna Chiddenton is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose practice explores the intersection of history and imagination. Since 2024, she has been a core member of the education team at Oakville Galleries, where she facilitates school programming and public workshops, including Ship of Tolerance. In her role as an instructor, Jenna is dedicated to cultivating a space where emerging creators can build technical confidence and develop a genuine love of experimentation across diverse artistic styles.

As a graduate of York University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program in 2021, Jenna works across relief printmaking, drawing, and painting, often merging these disciplines to explore themes of mental health awareness and the marks we leave behind. Her artistic style is heavily influenced by the high-contrast aesthetics of medieval manuscripts and the immersive, world-building elements of fantasy literature. She is particularly drawn to the intricate linework and dramatic contrasts found in Gothic architecture, elements that connect naturally with the bold, graphic nature of the printmaking medium. By centering her practice on the beauty found within imperfection, she creates a visual language that honors both the character of her subjects and the therapeutic act of creation.

As an artist, Meghan works across a range of mediums, with a particular focus on printmaking and textile arts. Her profound expertise in these areas is a testament to her dedication and passion for her craft. Her art, which focuses on adding a sense of whimsy to everyday life, is a reflection of her skill and proficiency.
