This summer we present the German artist duo Hedda Roman, who are at the forefront of contemporary art today; producing artwork in a complex collaboration with AI. Their exhibition Rogue Planet takes place at both of our gallery locations. From June 22nd to July 11th, we also present Sunset Kino, Canada’s only outdoor, avant-garde cinema. Also underway is an exciting Future Museum capital project. I have been working closely with the board of directors on the future strategy for this new museum and we will update everyone as we embark on this exciting venture.
Oakville Galleries is developing new programming and innovative opportunities for artists and audiences. Our key work is to position the work of international and Canadian artists in creative exhibition formats, as well as special projects in public spaces as well as collaborations with other institutions. We now commenced a new artist-in-residence program, which brings artists from around the world to our premises. We also continue our focus and commitment on our education and community programs, including with renewed and new partnerships in Oakville and beyond.
