Three-Session Intermediate Reduction Printmaking
Apr 15 - Apr 29 2026

events

Over three sessions, this course builds on foundational printmaking skills and introduces participants to the professional process of reduction printmaking. You’ll explore the techniques behind planning, staged carving, and printing multiple layers from a single block—developing both technical skill and creative decision-making.

The course emphasizes colour sequencing, precise registration, and intentional layering, guiding you through the evolution of your image as it transforms with each reduction. Designed for those ready to move beyond beginner techniques, participants will gain hands-on experience with a method widely used by professional printmakers, while cultivating a deeper understanding of composition, texture, and colour interplay.

By the end of the course, you’ll complete a cohesive reduction print and leave with both a finished artwork and enhanced insight into this dynamic, irreversible printmaking process.
