One of the most important aspects of Oakville Galleries' operation is its reliance on teamwork. However, even in the context of team support, every employee assumes defined responsibilities as described in their position descriptions. The Director, Matthew Hyland, works closely with all employees and the Board of Directors. Together with Marnie Fleming, Curator of Contemporary Art, the artistic vision is developed and priorities are set for acquisitions for the permanent collection. The Curator conducts exhibition and research initiatives. Catherine Sicot, Director of Education and Public Programmes, develops all educational programmes for Og2. She outlines outreach strategies and oversees a team of Animateurs who design and deliver programmes that reflect the community's varied audiences. As a whole, the education team participates in the development and delivery of teen and school programmes, as well as art classes and camps. The team consists of the newly created position of Community Arts Programmer (Sarah Febbraro), one Education Coordinator (Emily Gove), and eight part-time Educators (Beth Frey, Paul Fulton, Olia Mishchenko, Laura Paolini, Dominique Prévost, Paola Savasta, Joy Struthers, and Elizabeth Underhill). Their combined expertise in education shapes the quality and diversity of our youth programmes. Jessica Wilson, Interim Curatorial Assistant and Registrar manages the holdings of the permanent collection and coordinates the particulars of both on-site and touring exhibitions. She works in collaboration with Preparator, Brian Davis and the installation team. Communications Specialist Tracey Shepherd develops and implements Og2's strategic communications plan. She is also responsible for the production of the Newsletter. Maria Zanetti, Office and Facilities Manager, oversees everyday operations of Og2 and is secretary for the meetings of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Acquisitions Committee. Brady Schmidt, Development Associate, is in charge of managing corporate partnerships and fundraising. She works collaboratively with Board, staff and the wider community. Oakville Galleries' volunteers work on a project-based management model. Volunteers play an important role not only in Education but also as part of the Board of Directors and its committees.
