Our peers through the grants from The Canada Council for the Arts recognizes the overall quality of programmes delivered by Oakville Galleries. We are in the illustrious company of Musee d’art contemporain de Montreal, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Power Plant in Toronto and the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal. Oakville Galleries is committed to the presentation of contemporary art in all aspects of programming. With the support of our members, donors and corporate sponsors we are able to ensure the long-term viability of our exhibitions, children’s art education and acquisitions for the permanent collection of over 1100 pieces.

At this point, you might be scratching your head wondering what the difference is between a “member” and a “donor.”  We’ll make it simple for you. Although members and donors have distinct roles, both provide Oakville Galleries with a source of intellectual, artistic and financial support. As well, both share the underlying function of assisting the Galleries to continue to explore, exhibit and collect contemporary art. To us, we can best attribute this commonality to that of a “confidant” or “friend.” And so, to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we are proud to launch our expanded member and donor Giving Circle, the Friends of Oakville Galleries.

Friends of Oakville Galleries are our vital and integral partners that form the core of support for the Galleries.
