Take care of each other: T-shirt II

Oakville Galleries is thrilled to present our second t-shirt fundraiser in collaboration with Kerr Street Mission and Wei Yan's Youth Art Studio!
Consistent with the message of “Take Care of Each Other", our second T-shirt design is based on the pictographic forms of “关爱互助", the Chinese translation of “Take Care of Each Other". This artistic concept was facilitated by Mr. Yan and showcases the work of four students from his studio, Karen Tong, Andrew Ye, Tina Qin and Alex Xiong from Oakville and Burlington. The student's artistic visual expressions reflect the personal emotions they have had during these unprecedented times. In turn, those emotions create a profound connection and unity among people, despite their cultural backgrounds.
Mr. Yan is an Oakville-based artist and instructor known for blending Western painting techniques with Eastern culture, he has been teaching youth artists for over twenty years and we are pleased to be featuring his student's designs.
All proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be divided to support Kerr Street Mission, Oakville Galleries and Hamilton Arts Council's Hamilton Artists Relief Fund. For more than two decades, Kerr Street Mission has been providing essential programs and services for families and in particular their children. Today, Kerr Street Mission is a gathering place and a hub of care for the community. They continue to develop innovative programs and seek partnerships that will meet the needs of the many people that are in distress or struggling to provide the basic necessities for themselves and their families.
