Health & Safety Measures
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Oakville Galleries programs meet health guidelines designed in consultation with the Town of Oakville and in alignment with provincial health guidelines for day camps. Guidelines include lower ratios and capacity, encouraging physical distancing, mandatory health screening, and as much instruction outdoors as possible.
A class will consist of up to ten students and one instructor working exclusively with the assigned group. The group will have their own studio space and controlled access to washrooms.
Children will be seated at separate tables. Each child will be provided with a personal art kit which will be stored in the studio space and not shared with other students. Our staff will create seating arrangements to allow students to sit at least two metres away from other participants. During the program, art instructors will ensure that all students practice social distancing measures. Students and staff are required to wear face masks at all times in accordance with Halton Region public health guidelines, and each learning space will be equipped with hand sanitation stations and a sink for thorough hand washing. We kindly request that all parents and guardians review social distancing practices with their child prior to the start of the session.
Parents must successfully complete a health screening for their child(ren) prior to admittance into class upon drop-off and complete a form. Parents are required to take their child(ren)'s temperature in the morning prior to class. The health screening will identify anyone with COVID-19 related symptoms including fever, recent travel and recent contact with an individual with COVID-19 or symptoms. Any participant with an unsuccessful screening will not be permitted into the program in accordance with Provincial and Regional guidelines.
An email outlining all necessary information listed above will be sent to registrants prior to the program start date.
