This February, Oakville Galleries will present Points of Entry, an exhibition of artworks made by local seniors living with dementia such as Alzheimer's disease. Through regular art-making programs held at our location in Gairloch Gardens, local retirement homes and community centres throughout Oakville, seniors and their loved ones met and made art collaboratively with Oakville Galleries educators and local art therapist Becky Hewis. Opening up new means of self-expression, the resulting collages, prints, paintings, and sculptures demonstrate a full spectrum of creative engagement among those living with dementia.
