Sorry Dave (comment 31 Oct)clearly an explanation is required. Watching paint dry: during the drying process, the duration of which can vary (see advice on container) a physical change in the composition of the observed material is taking place, liquid to solid. Dependant upon available alternative sources of entertainment this may or may not prove interesting. Watching dry paint: having maintained one's enthusiasm during the drying process one is now confronted by by an infinitely more subtle and, in my opinion, challenging proposition requiring an inordinate amount of determination and/or inebriation. I believe this expression was first coined by Mr Stephen Fry (writer, actor and wit) who is known to have a way with words. It is unfortunate that, given the affluence of the community, Oakville is not a more dynamic environment but this can change.
