In this afternoon workshop, participants will learn how to make colour from the world around them, transforming locally found natural materials into inks with Jason Logan and the Toronto Ink Company. Following an introduction to the basics of ink-making, we will forage in Gairloch Gardens, sourcing colour from leaves, roots, berries, branches, and other finds. Back in the studio, participants will turn these materials into inks of their own making, testing them out on a variety of papers. Each participant will leave the workshop with a bottle of their handmade ink.
