Connect to the arts and make new friends at Oakville Galleries! Designed especially for seniors with dementia and their caregivers, this weekly program is open to art lovers and art amateurs alike!
Held at our location in Gairloch Gardens and available for bookings at retirement homes in Oakville, Points of Entry aims to create a supportive and compassionate environment where seniors and caregivers can gather to socialize and be creative with their peers. Seniors will have the opportunity to look at and share their thoughts about works of art with the guidance of a certified art therapist. Following this discussion and after a short tea break, a local artist will lead participants through the process of making art that expresses their ideas and personal stories.
At the conclusion of this program, participants' projects will be presented in a public exhibition at the Queen Elizabeth Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville.
This program is free of charge. Art supplies and light refreshments provided by Oakville Galleries.
