Home Studio Fridays

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Create, engage, share! Come join our very own educator Erica every Friday at 3:00pm in Home Studio. You can follow our step-by-step videos to create your own at-home masterpieces!

Young artists will stretch their thinking and develop skills while having a blast at Home Studio, a special space for developing young, creative minds. Make your own art studio at home - a cozy corner, a sunny window seat or a comfortable table and chair. Erica's weekly Home Studio art classes will be the highlight of any young artist's week!

Share what you've made using the hashtag #OGHomeStudio or send a picture to community@oakvillegalleries.com. We'd love to show off your work and bring colour and inspiration to all!

Delaunay Circles

  • 17 April 2020

The work of modernist painter and designer Sonia Delaunay has inspired artists for decades. This workshop will introduce the concept of abstract art and explore the use of shapes and patterns in design as well as new ways of incorporating colour. Young artists of all ages will create a piece exploding with colour and discover a new favourite artist!

Paper Weaving

  • 24 April 2020

Taking inspiration from artworks by Louise Noguchi in the Oakville Galleries permanent collection, this art workshop will teach the technique of weaving and encourage the use of recycled paper to make interesting patterns and abstracted images. Weaving is one of the most ancient forms of creativity and design, and this activity will allow young artists to transform that craft into their very own masterpieces!
