Judith Scott
– Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square
Late American artist Judith Scott is widely known for her engrossing, enigmatic fibre sculptures. Enveloping found objects—from wood to magazines to bicycle wheels—in yarn, thread and knotted cloth, Scott created dynamic, strikingly original forms from the sparest of materials.
The work of Paris-based Canadian artist Zin Taylor probes the spaces between object and idea, form and thought. Taylor's work imagines the mind as a studio or a factory, where hazy and nebulous thoughts grow organically into an abstract vocabulary of dots, stripes, zigzags, and curves.
