Artist's Proof: Printmaking
Grades 9 to 12

At the Galleries

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Art is a powerful form of communication, and prints are a great example of artists creatively conveying meaningful messages. In this full day workshop, students will work in pairs to make an edition of prints that share their own messages with the world. Starting with a brief introduction to the history of contemporary printmaking by activists and artists alike, students spend the rest of the day drawing text- and image-based designs, mixing colours and making an edition of thought-provoking prints.

Linoleum block printing or screen printing options available. Students are welcome to bring t-shirts or tote bags to screen on. With advance notice, Oakville Galleries can also supply fabric patches for this purpose.

  • Full day

  • $10/student ($250 minimum)
