A gift to Oakville Galleries through a life insurance policy ensures that you will enjoy the tax credits associated with this type of gift and can create a sizable gift by making relatively small premium payments now.
There are several creative options to consider. You may:
1. assign irrevocably a paid-up policy to Oakville Galleries 2. assign irrevocably a life insurance policy on which premiums remain to be paid; 3. name Oakville Galleries as a primary or successor beneficiary of the proceeds; or 4. assign Oakville Galleries as owner and beneficiary of a new policy.
Should the Galleries be assigned irrevocable ownership of a policy, the donor is entitled to a tax receipt for charitable purposes for the net cash surrender value (if any) and for any premiums subsequently paid.
Oakville Galleries strongly advises that any and all changes made to your estate be done initially in consultation with your loved ones and your lawyer. Subsequently, by informing the Galleries of your intentions, you will be included in the Oakville Galleries’s Legacy Society – a special group of dedicated donors who have included the Galleries in their Will or who have made another form of planned gift.
