Take a ride on the ARTbus and experience this summer’s exhibitions through artists’ and curators’ eyes. At Oakville Galleries, tours include Micah Lexier: Two Parents and Three Children and Vid Ingelevics: hunter/gatherer, as well as works installed in Gairloch Gardens, such as Janet Cardiff’s A Large Slow River and Alex Metcalf’s Tree Listening Installation. The tour will continue with Blackwood Gallery's off-site exhibition, The Projects: Port Credit, curated by Christof Migone, followed by Seeing with Closed Eyes: Five Abstract Artists at the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
The tour will unfold as follows:
The bus will pick up guests at 11:30 am and drop them off at 5:30 pm at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St. W., Toronto.
The first stop is at Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens, where visitors will experience a tour of the Micah Lexier exhibition. Participants will also discover works installed in the Gardens by Alex Metcalf, Janet Cardiff, Liz Magor and Fastwürms.
Snacks and refreshments have been generously donated by Whole Foods Market.
The second stop will be at Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square, where artist Vid Ingelevics will speak about his exhibition.
The tour will continue to 55 Port Street in Port Credit to see The Projects: Port Credit, presented by Blackwood Gallery. Curated by Christof Migone, artists include Kim Adams, Diane Borsato, Shane Krepakevich, Gareth Lichty, Lauren Nurse, Sandra Rechico, Kerri Reid and Jon Sasaki.
The final stop of the tour will be at the Art Gallery of Mississauga to view Seeing with Closed Eyes: Five Abstract Artists, including works by Robin Hollingdrake, Jangme Park, Ina Puchala, Doren Renner and Olga Shiels.
