Tuesdays, 21 September-26 October 2010 Tickle Trunk Inspired by the work of contemporary artists Yasumasa Morimura and Cindy Sherman, participants will create art-inspired costumes, masks and T-shirts from both traditional and recycled materials--just in time for Hallowe'en!
Tuesdays, 16 November-7 December 2010 It's a Jungle Out There Escape the winter blahs with a fantastic tropical voyage. During this programme, participants will create a fanciful indoor rainforest populated by hybrid creatures borne of their imagination.
Tuesdays, 1 February-8 March 2011 Dream House What makes a house a home? Taking inspiration from mobile homes, apartment buildings, space stations and monsters' caves, as well as snails, turtles and artist William Kentridge's drawings, participants will work in drawing and sculpture to imagine new bodies where everything we need can be carried on our backs.
Tuesdays, 5 April-10 May 2011 D-I-Why Not? Inspired by do-it-yourself culture, participants will collaboratively create a reproducible artwork each week. Using drawing, stenciling, silk-screening and collage techniques, participants will produce unique buttons, books and trading cards to share with family and friends!
Cost: Six-week sessions: $106 ($125 for non-members) Four-week session: $72.25 ($85 for non-members)
